Hey! I Can Do That
Ever want those crispy, golden wings at home but don’t feel like breaking out the fryer (or cleaning up the mess)? Same. That’s why these Crispy Baked Chicken Wings are my go-to for game days, weekend cravings, and honestly… whenever I just need that perfect crunchy bite.
And the best part? You can toss them in any sauce you want — from Buffalo to BBQ — but my personal favorite is our Firecracker Sauce (sweet, spicy, and sticky perfection 🔥).
What you’ll need!

1 pack of chicken wings (I grab mine from Kroger)
Olive oil
Spiceology Salt, Pepper, Garlic seasoning (you can use your favorite blend, but this one is perfect for wings)
Foil & a baking rack
Optional: your favorite sauce — like my Firecracker Sauce Recipe (coming soon!)
How to Make Crispy Baked Wings

- Prep your wings:
Start by dividing the wings — remove the tips, then separate the drumettes and flats. (Save those tips for bone broth — waste nothing!) - Coat and season:
Place all the drumettes and flats in a large bowl. Drizzle with just enough olive oil to lightly coat them, then season generously with Spiceology’s Salt, Pepper, Garlic.
👉 This simple seasoning keeps the wings flavorful but neutral enough to match any sauce you toss them in later. - Set up your pan:
Line a baking sheet with foil (trust me — this step saves your sanity during cleanup).
Place a baking rack on top of the foil. Arrange your wings in a single layer. They can touch a little, just don’t stack them. - Cold oven trick:
Here’s the secret — put your tray in a cold oven, then turn it on to 400°F.
Bake for 1 hour total, flipping halfway through. I use a convection oven with an air-fryer setting, but don’t worry — you don’t need those features. The key is high, dry heat. - Optional broil for crispiness:
At the end, if the skin isn’t quite brown enough, turn on the broiler for a couple of minutes to really crisp things up.

Time to Sauce It Up
Once they’re golden, crispy, and irresistible, divide them up. I’ll admit it — I always call dibs on the flats (they’re just better, right?).
Then toss them in your favorite sauce!
If you like sweet heat, check out my Firecracker Sauce Recipe — it’s the perfect mix of sticky, spicy, and sweet.

Why You’ll Love These Wings
- No fryer required — less mess, less oil, all the crunch.
- Customizable — toss in any sauce you love.
- Perfect for parties — everyone can sauce their own batch.
- Crispy every time — that cold-oven trick works magic.
Pro Tip
Make a double batch. Seriously.
Every time I serve these, they disappear in minutes. They’re that good — and since they’re oven-baked, you can keep the second tray ready to pop in while the first disappears.
So next time the wing craving hits, skip the deep fryer and say, “Hey! I can do that!”
These crispy baked chicken wings are the proof that good wings don’t need dunked in oil — just a little time, heat, and love.
